I'm so confused about what to buy for an electric guitar. And since I'm a beginner, what should I buy? And what kind of amp should I get? I just need all the information I could get about what to buy. Thanks!(Mad_Girl)

I'd recommend a Fender Stratocaster or a Gibson (maybe too expensive, but could be a good investment if you're really serious about learning) for your first electric.
Go to a big guitar store. Search your yellow pages for surrounding areas and/or the city you live in and find a place where you can go and browse a bit. Even if you're just a beginner, ask them to get some guitars off the stands or walls so you can try them out. Just see how they feel when you hold them. Have them plug them in and just strum randomly (its ok if you don't know any cords yet-- don't be shy) and see what it sounds like... play with the knobs. Ask someone at the store to recommend an amp. A lot of it will depend on the price range, too. And consider what you'll be using the amp for and what you're working up to and how soon. Are you just playing for yourself at home? Would you like to record or play in a band once you learn? I hope this helps. I would really try a Strat and don't forget about a strap, picks, a tuner (maybe) depending on how good your ear is, and GET A CORD DICTIONARY. this will be invaluable to you.

I also play electric guitar and im a semipro..u should get giutar pics,a guitar tuner,(if u dont know how 2 get it tuned),the guitar strap,(2 carry it if ur standing),and u should get a fender amp or yamaha they really work and sound really great to. oh and you should get a book 4 electric guitars that have all the notes 2.(Alyssa)

I agree with Fender Strat. You can find one at a decent price and they tend to be smaller for female hands. Go to the music store and play a few guitars. When you find one that feels good, thats the one for you. Try to take a guitar player that knows more about guitars with you. They will be able to guide you a little.(oracleof...)

hmm try an ACT ONE guitar...cheap and sold at walmart so easy to find.

Then if you like playing guitar go on and spend some real money to get something better like a gibson or fender

Depends on what style of music you want to play but offten Fender is realy good and they stay intune for a long time also for an amp marshall is realy good I am a guitar player myself and I realy like fender though gibson is awsome but I would recomend it for later on
